About e-Map
	RAK-EGA has also developed the RAK E-MAP Website. The project was undertaken in November, 2006.
	The E-Map is a web-based internet Application that basically allows RAK Citizens and for users to view images and maps of RAK and undertake basic queries on the GIS – to find important features, to see road connectivity, to measure distance etc.
	The E-MAP Portal has been developed by using unique MAP-SERVER software that allows maps and images to be server on web-networks and is basically designed for Portals.
	The E-Map Portal contain database of seamless images of whole RAK, major road, administrative units, and other GIS layers and a large number of about 300 Landmarks of RAK that have been surveyed and incorporated into GIS.
	The E-Map Portal has an easy-to-use interface that is ergonomically designed and is available in both English and Arabic.
	The E-Map Portal is already operational from April, 2007 and is available on the net for access. The E-Map Portal is also continuously being updated by adding landmark features and also maintaining the Map portal.

	Public can search and view important Contacts, Description and Snapshots of Landmarks, Roads, Sectors, Communities and Blocks of Ras Al-Khaimah.
	Public can search and view information of Landmarks, Roads and Land use of Ras Al-Khaimah.
	The important Landmarks such as Government Offices/Ministries, Educational Institutions, Banks, Clubs, Hospitals, Mosques, Hotels/Restaurants, Shopping Centers, Places of interest, Parks, Round About are categorized.
	The RAK Web portal is integrated with High-Resolution Aerial Imagery so that the public can easily view the Buildings or any area very clearly.
